The Plane Tree offers supported work placements for adults with additional needs in a welcoming and creative retail environment. We help you to develop confidence alongside employability skills.

Is The Plane Tree Suitable For You?

If you think you might like to try a placement at the Plane Tree, don’t hesitate to get in touch. Our trainees are people who, for a variety of reasons are not yet work ready. This could be due to low confidence or lack of experience. It may be a more complex barrier such as mental health issues, learning difficulties, autism, ADHD or other neurodivergence. We generally see a combination of issues alongside a variety of strengths that have yet to be fully realised. Placements are suitable for adults who would benefit from structured support, while developing independence, workplace skills, and community engagement. We work closely with you and your family, alongside other professionals and to ensure each placement is positive, supportive and fun!

How It Works

Each placement is structured and supported by our team. We provide clear guidance, supervision, and a supportive environment where individuals can learn at their own pace. Where applicable we can support communication via signs and symbols. Our aim is to create a safe and inclusive space that encourages growth and confidence.
